Orange Cream Sickle Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 box orange-flavored cake mix
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, orange juice, vegetable oil, eggs, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
- Bake according to the instructions on the cake mix box.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the vanilla pudding according to the instructions on the box. Let it chill in the refrigerator.
- Once the cake is baked and cooled, use a fork to poke holes all over the top.
- Pour the prepared vanilla pudding over the cake, making sure it fills the holes.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the top of the cake.
- Refrigerate the cake for a few hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
