Orange Cream Sickle Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 box orange-flavored cake mix
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, orange juice, vegetable oil, eggs, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
  4. Bake according to the instructions on the cake mix box.
  5. While the cake is baking, prepare the vanilla pudding according to the instructions on the box. Let it chill in the refrigerator.
  6. Once the cake is baked and cooled, use a fork to poke holes all over the top.
  7. Pour the prepared vanilla pudding over the cake, making sure it fills the holes.
  8. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  9. Spread the whipped cream over the top of the cake.
  10. Refrigerate the cake for a few hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
