Jalapeno Popper Casserole Recipe

If you love bold flavors, you cannot miss this delicious Jalapeno Popper Casserole. This dish is packed with creamy, cheesy, and spicy flavors, making it a perfect comfort food for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Two packages of cream cheese, softened at room temperature
  • One cup of sour cream
  • Two cups of Mexican cheddar jack cheese, shredded and divided
  • One pound of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Six jalapeno peppers, deseeded and diced
  • One to two-pound bag of tater tots
  • Six green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to four hundred twenty five degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Coat a baking dish with nonstick baking spray.
  3. Pour a layer of tater tots into the casserole dish.
  4. Bake at four hundred twenty five degrees for fifteen minutes.
  5. Cook the bacon and place it on paper towels to absorb excess grease. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.
  6. Dice the jalapeno peppers and slice the green onions.
  7. In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, one and a half cups of cheddar jack cheese, and half of the crumbled bacon. Stir to mix.
  8. Add three fourths of the diced jalapenos and green onions to the cream cheese mixture. Mix well.
  9. Once the tater tots are done baking, spread the jalapeno mixture evenly over the top.
  10. Garnish with the remaining cheese, bacon, and jalapenos.
  11. Bake at four hundred twenty five degrees for twenty minutes.
  12. Remove from the oven and serve hot.
